Youth

6th - 12th Grades

Our vision for Smyrna First Youth is to send students on their journey in a manner worthy of God by loving God, each other, our community and our world.

Sunday Night Youth

Most Sunday evenings students in 6-12th grade gather for food, fellowship, and fun! We have a snack supper at 5:30pm ($5 suggested donation) provided by parents/volunteers, followed by a devotion and a different activity each week. Once a month we head out into the community for different events that have included escape rooms, Top Golf, and a progressive dinner.

Wednesday Night Youth

6pm-7:30pm. We will dive into the Word of God and grow through worship, study, and fellowship. We will begin with dinner in the Fellowship Hall at 6pm ($8).

Sunday Morning Discipleship Groups

Each Sunday morning we gather C209 for 6th grade; C211 for 10th-12th Grade; and C213 for 7th-9th grade from 10:10 – 10:50am to explore relevant biblical teaching, connect with one another and enjoy snacks and coffee. If there is a month with a 5th Sunday we combine with our community hour to eat pancakes together in the welcome center.

Confirmation

Confirmation is for 6th and 7th grade students who want to journey together in discipleship through classes, service, speakers retreats, and developing a deeper walk with Christ, leading to membership in the United Methodist Church. Classes start in the fall and are for students who are curious about the United Methodist Church, what we believe, and are ready to step into a faith of their own more deeply.

For Parents

Raising teenagers can be tough!  We are here for you.  Our goal is to partner with you as together we provide the education, faith foundation and love for your student that will “Send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God.”
